BOSTON, MA — A New Hampshire man is scheduled to be arraigned on a murder charge in Boston Municipal Court after being accused of stabbing a man at a hotel on Saturday.
Police were sent to the Hotel Indigo on Friend Street in Boston near the TD Garden around 11:30 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a man "suffering from an apparent stab wound" and he was taken to a local hospital, according to police. The man was pronounced dead not long after arriving at the hospital.
Ren Rodgers, 23, of Hollis was arrested and charged with murder.
Limited information about the case was available at post time. Police, according to a post online, are "actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident."
Rodgers is no stranger to police in New Hampshire. He was arrested on a felony burglary charge in Portsmouth in January 2017. The case involved an incident at Portsmouth Kayak Adventures on Wentworth Road in August 2016. He was indicted in April 2017. Two months later, he was arrested on possession of a controlled drug and unlawful possession of alcohol charges in Amherst. A year later, the burglary case was nolle prossed.
