The ASIST Training is a two-day, evidence-based workshop that discusses warning signs and intervention skills for persons at risk of suicide Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is an internationally-acclaimed, two-day interactive training program in suicide first-aid. ASIST is listed on the National Suicide Prevention Registry of Evidence-Based Programs. ASIST is designed to empower police officers, EMTs, teachers, school administrators, social workers, counselors, clergy, business managers, and a wide variety of community members with the hands-on skills needed to intervene with someone at risk of suicide. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is for adults who want to be able to provide suicide first aid. Shown by major studies to significantly reduce suicidality, the ASIST model teaches effective intervention skills while helping to build suicide prevention networks in the community. Each ASIST workshop shares many core features that make up the LivingWorks international standard. Here is what you can expect at your ASIST Training: ASIST is held over two consecutive days for a total of 15 hours. Local resources are provided, and their availability in the community is discussed.Participants receive a certificate upon completing the workshop. This training requires that participants are present from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for both full days of the training in order to gain a certificate of completion. Lunch will be on your own. Closer to the training date a list of nearby restaurants will be emailed to those registered for the training.Space is available to store lunches should you choose to bring your lunch each day. There is also a microwave available to heat meals if needed.There will NOT be refreshments provided. Please bring your own coffee, drinks, snacks, etc. to the training.CEUs are available for $60. This information will be provided on Day 2 of the workshop. **Registration fee is refunded upon completion of the two day training.** Seating is limited, so register now! Special COVID Statement: We will be taking all necessary precautions to keep everyone safe during this training. Participants will be expected to check in at the front desk both days, where a brief screening will be conducted. All participants will have temperatures checked, and appropriate spacing will be provided when seated. Hand sanitizer and masks will be provided both days.
