I notice that CL has started charging for listings in Cars/ Trucks for sale. I understand the business aspect of this. What I struggle with, is- On multiple occasions, I've tried contacting sellers, but the security (image matching game/ captcha) doesn't function, and after playing the stupid puzzle game- I get an error code. I'm unable to contact the seller of the vehicle. I posted a for sale ad a couple of months ago under the same premise. And couldn't even access my own ad as a CL user. I guess the frustration is paying to post the ad, but how many people have this same issue, and how effective is this method of screening? Sure- It might filter out robots, but it also filters out potential buyers. Why pay for an ad, if your potential buyer can't even contact you? Is this a widespread problem? I can't get thru to the seller on my laptop, iPad, or my phone. So- The guy selling the car paid for an ad, and the guy with the money can't make initial contact, let alone make a purchase. No wonder Facebook Marketplace is monopolizing, and crushing CL on all fronts. I HATE Facebook. But I might just have to join that cult, just to avoid the frustration that has become Craigslist.
