ROSWELL, GA — The City of Roswell is accepting applications for Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Round 3 funding. The city's remaining allocation amount from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will be $376,654. The Community Development Block Grant funds were authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act to prevent, prepare for, and respond to infectious diseases such as the coronavirus. Funding is being made available to local nonprofits serving Roswell residents. All proposed projects must primarily benefit low- to moderate-income persons impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Along with the national objective, the Roswell mayor and city council have identified five funding priorities for the Community Development Block Grant program: Job training servicesChild care servicesSenior servicesEducation servicesPublic facility improvements Additionally, mayor and city council have emphasized a preference for priority projects that have a multiplier effect that maximizes the impact of these funds to Roswell's citizens and its economy and a preference for priority projects that have the most impact to the health, safety, and security of Roswell residents.
