Press release from the City of Berkeley: February 22, 2021 Press Contact: Matthai Chakko, (510) 981-7008 Sign up quickly for fun and enriching summer programs serving ages 5-14 Berkeley, California (Monday, February 22, 2021) - Berkeley residents can register for youth summer day camps starting 9am Tuesday, February 23. While some programs have had to make adjustments around capacity, transportation and length, we are pleased to provide an array of traditional summer day camps serving youth ages 5-14 this year - about 70% of typical summer offerings. With high demand and limited availability, spots may fill quickly. If you do not yet have an account on the City's online registration platform, you can speed up the registration process by creating your account in advance. Registration opens February 23 or 25 for most youth camps Berkeley residents have priority for summer camp registration. If spots remain available, registration for non-residents will open at a later date. Resident registration opens: Berkeley Day Camp (ages 5-13): Tuesday, February 23, 9am Sports Central Camp (ages 8-12): Tuesday, February 23, 9am Berkeley Fun Camp (ages 5-12): Thursday, February 25, 9am Berkeley Skate Camp (ages 8-14): Thursday, February 25, 9am Echo Lake Youth Camp (ages 7-14): resident registration open now Session options for Berkeley based camps are June 7-25, June 28-July 16, and July 19-August 6. All camps will be held outdoors and conducted in compliance with state and local COVID-19 safety regulations. Most camps are offered in three 3-week long sessions, with campers and staff remaining in stable cohorts for the duration of each session. Participants will need to attend the program regularly to remain enrolled. Scholarships and Payment plans available We offer several options to make these programs accessible to all. A payment plan option is available at checkout in the registration portal. Selecting the payment plan allows you to pay 50% of your fee when registering, then the remainder in May. Scholarships covering 50% or 100% of fees are available to those who qualify. To apply, download the application and send your completed form to [email protected].
