OUR MISSION/ABOUT HUMBLE DESIGN: Humble Design serves individuals, families, and veterans emerging from homelessness by transforming their empty house into a warm, welcoming and uplifting home with donated furniture and household goods. Across the country, Humble Design warehouses are curated and stocked by design teams that personalize homes by providing a dignified, life changing experience for clients. We believe in restoring dignity to every family that has suffered homelessness. YOUR EXPERIENCE: Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Technical Skills – Must know how to use google maps or other map applications. Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional client situations; Responds promptly to client and staff needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance. Interpersonal - Maintains confidentiality. Team Work - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY: --Passionate about our mission and wants to help the Seattle homeless community --Weekly: schedule furniture pickups, and reply to email pick up requests once per day. Email to confirm pick ups the week before and note confirmation on the spreadsheet --Attend Monday morning meeting with Director & Operations Manager to go over weekly schedule --Work with the Operations Manager to create a weekly schedule for the movers --Supervise & manage assisting movers and communicate everything with Operations manager --Drive the Humble truck --Ensure that truck has gas and communicate with Operations Manager when it is in need of maintenance --Work with the Operations Manager when maintenance needs to occur in the warehouse, bathroom, or office --Work with Operations Manager to lead volunteers on volunteer days, guide and direct projects --Greet & help unload cars/trucks of drop off donors. Be the “gatekeeper” and reject items that we don’t need or use to prevent us from having to use resources to rid ourselves of unwanted items. Check to see if they want a donation receipt --Help load and unload truck on deco days or after pickups --Inventory: Inform Operations Manager when low on items & communicate with Designers; call partners to see if they have excess --Place furniture immediately in appropriate spot in warehouse --Responsible for doing walk through with designers and loading truck on delivery days. --Assist designers when needed
