This position is hands-on and physically-involved to maintain and improve the facility while adhering to all regulatory compliance for the patients and staff. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform septic, boilers, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry repairs and upkeep - SPEC was built in 1965 and predates Medicare and Medicaid • Perform patient room maintenance including: caulking, tile repair, painting, plumbing, wheelchair/bed repair, television concerns, etc. • Perform and document preventative maintenance projects to meet or exceed compliance requirements • Prioritize facility needs to complete online work orders / projects in a sequential/prioritization order • Ensure and perform work that meets high-quality standard and follows product manuals - must have attention to detail and anticipate concerns and projects • Respond to daily maintenance tasks through the online Work Order system in a timely manner • Work with tech support / customer service on all product troubleshooting issues • Source vendor bids and ensure high-quality project implementation & completion • Follow nursing home guidelines to ensure safe working environment • Perform general grounds keeping and exterior building maintenance (i.e., snow removal) and oversight of the building for safety, function and marketing to the community • Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure high-quality of work and cleanliness is performed • Be on call 24/7 *As a Health Care Facility you will have a CORI and need references. In a Pandemic, you must be comfortable wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout your working hours. You will act as the Facility Safety Officer to ensure you and all staff comply with current CDC/DPH regulations to keep the residents, child daycare children and all staff negative for Covid-19. QUALIFICATIONS: • Working knowledge of building systems i.e., SEPTIC, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and utility • 4 years of experience of hands-on maintenance work using hand and electrical tools • Ability to read technical product manuals, work with tech support, troubleshoot, and execute independently • Strong problem-solving skills, follow-through mindset, and accountability to administrator • Knowledge of Infection Control, HIPPA, OSHA, DPH, MSDS, NFPA, and Life Safety standards • Experience interacting with Government agencies and frail elders/behavioral residents, child daycare and all families/representatives along with vendors and contractors • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills along with great follow through • Physical stamina and dexterity • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) • Valid Driver’s License - reimbursed for mileage - must have own transportation - preferably a truck • Familiar with common computer software programs (e.g., Microsoft office products) • Must be willing to work off hours, weekends and holidays for building emergencies and weather concerns if needed - (all skilled nursing facilities are 24/7) Sudbury Pines Extended Care offers a comprehensive rewards and compensation package for eligible associates that includes: • Opportunities for career growth • Child daycare on premise (1 month to 7 years) which has been in operation since 1986 for the staff and community • Warm and supportive work environment • Holiday, Vacation & Personal Time • Jury Duty and Bereavement Pay • Competitive wage • Affordable Health Insurance • Long Term Disability and Life Insurance • Voluntary Dental and Short Term Disability Insurance • 401(k) retirement plan with Employer Match Job Type: Full-time COVID-19 considerations: *As a Health Care Facility in a Pandemic, you must be comfortable wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout your working hours and act as the Facility Safety Officer to ensure you and all staff comply with current CDC/DPH regulations.
