Steering Column Install on 98 CHEVROLET Truck

I need someone to go thru our older shop truck that we use for snow removal in our parking lot. I need the newly installed steering column looked at. We had a mechanic on site working on it. He has worked for us for a few months but he cant fix this mess he has made. Originally, we wanted him to just check the truck out, check fluids and make sure the truck was ready for winter. It drove in the shop for him to go over for the winter snows....but he worked on it for the past 3 months and now cant drive it out and use it. Can someone fix it? Originally we wanted him to go thru it and make sure it was ready for the winter...no big deal... then...he said it needed a muffler, tail pipe, ignition, starter, springs, ignition switch, spark plugs, fuel hose & clamps, a battery, a fuel pump assembly, a distributor cap, a distributor rotor, coupler set, a new steering column because the shifter just "snapped" off.... then it didnt fit and get got another steering column. Its installed but he cant start the truck now. We have a lift on site and its inside a shop as well. Let me know if this is something you can look at confidently and not milk us dry with more and more parts and labor.... this is getting ridiculous... we should have just left it the way it was.. but at this point, I want some closure and I really want this fixed for my boss. Any suggestions? Lisa
