Maintenance Technician

Local property management & real estate investment company is looking for skilled maintenance technician with a broad spectrum of experience for home maintenance/repair and remodeling projects. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and proficiencies: - Sheetrock/framing. Installation and repair, spackling - Carpentry. Installation and/or repair of door jambs, door knobs, trim and moldings - Cabinetry. Installation and/or repair of cabinets (kitchen and/or bathroom) - Basic locksmith. Adjusting doors, hinges, locks. - Light electrical. Installation and/or repair of light fixtures, switches, outlets, etc. - Light plumbing. Installation and/or repair of faucets, drains, toilets, diverters etc - Painting. All aspects of painting a home (interior and exterior) - General repairs associated with rental properties (to make units "rent ready") Candidate requirements: - Live in, or be within short commuting distance to Wilmington - Own, reliable transportation to pick up materials (and must provide proof of insurance, or sign a waiver). - Valid driver's license - Must have own tools - Own cellphone, ability to email, text, and send pictures - Demonstrate initiative, able to troubleshoot - Must be a hard worker, honest, reliable - Must be Organized, and detail minded - Communicate well, both oral and written - Neat and clean appearance - Work independently and complete punch lists - Clean up upon completing repairs and maintenance - Must pass drug test and criminal background check before being hired - Zero tolerance for drug use and alcohol use during work hours Compensation: - Hourly/day rate. Rate based on experience. - 1099 only (need to carry own general liability insurance, own healthcare, taxes, etc.) - Permanent role, not short term sub-contractor role. Probationary period to start, but will lead to full time within 2 weeks once skills and work ethic demonstrated.
