Via County Animal Shelter: Have you lost your pet? Becoming separated from a beloved pet can be a traumatic experience for both of you. Never give up hope. Animals who’ve been lost for months have been reunited with their families. In the event a separation does occur, take the following steps: 1) File a lost pet report with every shelter and animal control agency within a 60-mile radius of your home. Visit said shelters often, if possible. 2) Place an eye-catching yard sign in front of your house, showing a photo of your missing pet and your phone number. 3) Walk or drive through your neighborhood several times each day. 4) Ask neighbors, letter carriers and delivery personnel if they’ve seen your pet.
