Alpine Water Users Association currently has an opening for a full-time Field Operator. The right person for this opportunity is a self-starter, works with integrity, and is interested in a career in the water industry. Our small water company serves over 900 connections for local businesses and homes within our community. We are located in Twin Peaks, California in the quiet San Bernardino Mountains. This small town resort atmosphere is a great place to raise kids and enjoy the four seasons of weather. Our operation, including the open position, is 3-4 employees. Required Skills (but not limited to): • Must be able to be onsite within 30 minutes. Mountain Resident Preferred • Preferred but not mandatory to have at least a D1 (Distribution) and T1 (Treatment) Certification • Proficient in data entry of well and tank performance • Maintain and monitor chlorine residuals throughout distribution system and field sites • Repair active water leaks, and troubleshoot system problems • Operate and monitor SCADA system • Read Water Meters: Manually read approximately 940 meters on a bi-monthly basis • Experience with ground water extraction, wells, pumps, and treatment • Operate and maintain all company vehicles and equipment • Upkeep of all field sites • Respond to customer service orders • Respond to Underground Service Alerts (USA Dig Alerts) by marking water line locations in the event of construction and/or excavation • Operation of a backhoe and towing equipment Compensation: This is a full-time career opportunity and compensation is based on qualifications and experience Benefits: Health Insurance, Retirement Contribution, Vacation, Holidays, Personal/Sick Days Report and accountable to General Manager Serious inquiries and qualified applicants only, please.
