Description

The Greenskeeper must have the ability to walk long distances on natural and man-made terrain. Due to the fact that most of the work takes place outdoors, the employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, such as wind and rain. The position requires the need to operate a wide variety of motorized vehicles. Must be able to load/transport or push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Depending upon the skill set and ambition, each employee has the potential to participate in any one of the following duties or responsibilities, which will be determined by the Superintendent and/or Assistant(s).  Mowing greens using walking or riding reel mowers.  Mowing tees and/or approaches using walking or riding reel mowers.  Mowing rough areas using walking rotary and reel operated riding or reel mowers.  Raking sand bunkers by mechanical or manual methods.  Trimming grass areas with a string-trimmer. These areas may include, but are not limited to: trees, bunker banks, and natural areas.  Using a tractor to operate PTO driven implements. A variety of implements may be used to perform a particular task, but are not limited to: blowing debris, aerifying, mowing rough, grading and transporting soil, transporting debris, chipping wood debris, grinding tree stumps, top-dressing, etc.  Sand top-dressing areas using rotary spreaders or mechanical equipment.  Walking or riding aerification equipment.  Manual and mechanical methods of weed removal.  Supplementing turf areas using the irrigation controllers or manually with hoses.  Assisting with irrigation repair and maintenance.  Assisting with fertilizer or pesticide applications.  Maintenance of Clubhouse area to include, but not limited to: weeding mulch beds, pruning ornamentals, rotary mowing, and trash pick-up.  The mixing and application of a soil and seed blend to selected areas using manual or mechanical methods.  Edging and weeding cart paths.  Repairing ball marks.  Packing sand in bunkers using manual or mechanical methods.  Renovation and construction work to include, but not limited to: drainage, irrigation, sodding, seeding, and grading.  Miscellaneous cleaning and maintenance of areas, such as equipment, bathrooms, and shop facilities.
