The function of our Dog Wrangler is to provide a positive, fun and safe experience for all dogs in our care.
The position is physically demanding. Applicants should be prepared to spend most of a shift on their feet. Working among a large group of dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages and personalities. A positive and caring attitude with the ability to multitask is a must. Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team. If you have no dog wrangling skills we have a Lead Dog Wrangler that will help train. Must be willing to accept directions when needed. Be coach-able and open to feedback, friendly, welcoming, respectful to other team members and clients. Be eager to learn about dog breeds and dog behavior.
SOME SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES ARE
Ensure safe interaction during play
Feeding and medications for boarding and daycare dogs
Active supervision in daycare of dog group play
Dog waste pick up
Cleaning of facility throughout shifts
Fast paced environment and multitask
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Be able to stand on your feet 4-6 hours a day
Repeated bending
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Able to correct dogs for safety & healthy play
Cleaning of the play area, facility
Urgency (able to predict and see it through on your own)
Punctuality, Reliability and Responsible to take care of our clients pets.
Teamwork required
Ability to closely follow instructions and complete tasks independently.
