FRAMINGHAM, MA — The main group organizing to build a dog park in Framingham will host its first educational event for pet owners this week.
FramBARK's first PETS (pup-focused education and training series) will happen Thursday and will focus on companion animal massage. The event will feature April Lowe, a canine craniosacral and massage therapist, and FramBARK founder Shannon Stevens.
For about six years, FramBARK has been trying to bring a dog park to Framingham. The effort has paid off in recent months with city officials now pursuing a grant from the Stanton Foundation to build a dog park at the south end of Farm Pond Park.
Framingham's effort is part of a wider push for more dog parks. Organizers in Ashland are finalizing plans for a park along Memorial Drive, and organizers in Milford announced a new effort last week. Natick opened its first dog park in September along Route 135.
The event begins Thursday at 7 p.m. online. Find a link and more details on the FramBARK Facebook page.
