Bonaventure Senior Living has an exciting new position for a Traveling Maintenance Technician! We are looking for a Traveling Maintenance Technician who understands the need for quick turn around without sacrificing quality while demanding the best from themselves and their sub-contractors. Prompt detection and effective triage and isolation of potentially infectious residents is essential to prevent unnecessary exposures among residents, team members, and visitors at the facility. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform complete unit turns, must be able to assess damage, build a list of supplies needed for repairs, and execute the work such as Sheetrock patch and repair, Mud, Texture and Full Paint. Provide quality work as traveling maintenance sets the example for community maintenance. Train new team members in Community Maintenance expectations and procedures. Facilitating successful physical plant operations by performing repairs and maintenance (HVAC, PTAC, Masonry, Appliances, Etc.) Plumbing maintenance included but not limited to (location of leaks, install sinks, p-traps, set toilets, clearing clogs, replacing angle stops, replace appliances, Etc.) Electrical includes but is not limited to (diagnosing circuit issues, breaker replacement, outlet and switch replacements, light fixture replacements, Lighting, appliances, Etc.) Perform Carpentry work which includes but is not limited to (Door/doorjamb replacements, Cabinet replacement, cabinet doors, MDF trim work, Countertops, Formica, Etc.) Communicate with Management in communities to establish priorities list to performing necessary and / or assigned repair work in conjunction with the community Maintenance Executing resident maintenance work orders Following and executing preventative maintenance schedule and tasks. Ensuring strict adherence to fire and hazardous chemical procedures and promptly addressing all unsafe conditions or equipment repair Arranging for and managing contracted repairs, maintenance and construction services Maintaining compliance with all state regulatory requirement regarding maintenance Perform all work in a timely manner which may necessitate a fluctuating work week and ability to travel to assignments on short notice. Requirements: Ability to self-perform all tasks listed above (this is a hands-on position). Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record. Ability to perform and / or coordinate emergency building repairs. Experience working on minor electrical and plumbing projects. Working knowledge of construction-related repairs. Ability to travel in assigned region, as needed, often on short notice. Ability to work a fluctuating work week. Ability to train community management teams in the operations of emergency systems. Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work well with others. High school diploma or equivalent GED. The ideal candidate will also possess problem solving skills and a drive to provide exceptional service to our communities and residents.
