Kitchen Basics 101
Just in time for the holidays! We are launching our second round of classes for Kitchen Basics 101! If you have already taken the first round, this one is not for you but... we will get yours on the books next. 😉 This series was so fun! We will be tweaking some of the classes due to the last series being seasonally related.
We will learn:
*Kitchen basics/ safety in the kitchen
*Safe Knife Handling
*Dough making and Baking
*Gummy Bears!
*Pies!
*Pasta!
*Kitchen Herbs and how to grow them ( We will be baking Rosemary Biscotti)
*Pickles!
*Pizza! -with a little pizza party.
This class is a 10 week course and will be held every Monday 2:00pm and a second class at 6:00pm beginning January 4th and ending March 8th.
Suggested Ages are 9-14 years of age.
This course will begin with a basic understanding of kitchen practices, safety in the kitchen and healthy food choices. We will include Baking, Recipe/Meal Development and Culturing for Beginners. The course will end with a basic understanding of nutrition, cooking and baking simple meals and cultured foods by making sourdough bread. Some homework/projects will be included. The purpose is to give students a creative environment to explore and develop confidence and skills in the kitchen.
