NAUGATUCK, CT - The Naugatuck Police Department reports that "there's a new dog in town." The NPD introduces K-9 Tommy, who is the successor to recently retired K9 Vane. K9 Tommy is named in honor of the department's fallen brother, Robert "Tommy" Byrne. The newest K9 is a 2 year old German Shepherd from the Czech Rebublic and actually comes from the same bloodline as K9 Vane, so he has some big paws to fill. K9 Tommy is trained in tracking/apprehension of criminal suspects and location of missing persons. Best of luck to K9 Tommy as he begins his journey with #teamNPD
