Description
DANBURY, CT — The city is once again accepting applications for the Façade Improvement Grant Program, meant to incentivize downtown businesses to gussy up their storefronts.
The maximum amount of any grant is $10,000, with a maximum of $50,000 per property, or 50 percent of the total façade improvement costs, whichever is less.
Eligible businesses are located within the Downtown Revitalization Zone with a non-residential use on the first floor that front on, or have direct access from, a public street or right-of-way. The DRZ includes Main Street from Elmwood Place to Franklin Street, as well as the areas of Ives Street and Lee Hartell Drive.
Last year the city gave Peruvian restaurant Empire of the Incas $10,000 which was used to create sliding glass doors for its entryway.
The application for the grant is available online. Business owners with questions about the application are referred to Director of Business Advocacy Roger Palanzo, 203-796-1649.
