Homicide Suspected After Woman Goes Missing In N. Palm Springs

NORTH PALM SPRINGS, CA —Deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff's Station continued searching Monday for the remains of a 65-year-old woman discovered missing during a homicide investigation in the unincorporated North Palm Springs area. Robin Patricia Barr was discovered missing Thursday when detectives investigated "a suspicious circumstance call" in the 64000 block of Vermillion Road, according to sheriff's Sgt. Rick Espinoza. "Due to the nature of the circumstances, the Riverside County Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation," Espinoza said. On Monday, it was confirmed that a suspect was in custody. David Williams Jr., 27, of North Palm Springs was being held at Indio Larson Justice Center. He was booked on a parole violation and is due to appear in court Wednesday, according to jail records. "The victim's remains have not been recovered as of yet and this investigation is continuing," the sheriff's department said Monday.
