CREST HILL, IL — A 30-year-old Crest Hill man remains in the Will County Jail in connection with allegations that he continued to make false 911 calls and subsequently gave a Crest Hill police officer a head-butt. The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has charged Alvaro Rodriguez Jr. with the trio of felonies: aggravated battery, disorderly conduct and obstructing a peace officer. The incident that led to Rodriguez's arrest happened Feb. 11. According to the criminal complaint, Rodriguez called 911 for the purpose of making a false complaint, that being "the numerous calls inquiring of an officer and making varying threats, when, at the time of the call was made, the defendant knew there were no reasonable grounds for making the call and further knew that the call could result in the emergency response of a public safety agency." The charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing a peace officer state that Rodriguez contacted the head of a Crest Hill police officer with his own head while the officer was present to make the arrest of Rodriguez, who lives on Sybil Drive in Crest Hill. Rodriguez has remained in the Will County Jail since his arrest, unable to post 10 percent of his $20,000 bail, jail records show. His next court appearance is set for March 11.
