EAST NORRITON, PA — The 17-year-old wanted for the deadly shooting at a Montgomery County bowling alley Saturday night has turned himself in, authorities said on Monday. Two others are still wanted in connection with the incident. Jamel Barnwell, of Upper Darby, went to police shortly after midnight early Monday morning. He has been charged with first degree murder. Barnwell and two other men entered the Our Town Alley on Swede Road in East Norriton on Saturday night, and within minutes became involved in a physical altercation, police said. Security footage showed that Barnwell's group arrived at around 6:39 p.m., according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. By 6:43 p.m., Barnwell's group got in a fight with Frank Wade, 29, of Philadelphia, and several other individuals, police said. During the melee, Barnwell pulled out a gun from inside his jacket and started firing, the DA's Office said. Wade was killed, and at least four more people were injured, including Yahnirr Brooks, 21; Shamir Jones, 31; Robert Oliver, 26; and Ahmir Simmons, 19. Barnwell left his cell phone behind in the alley before fleeing the scene. He was later identified through surveillance footage and witness interviews, and photos of him were released to the media and public on Sunday afternoon. Police are continuing to search for the two other suspects who entered the alley with Barnwell. If you have any information, contact Montgomery County Detective Bureau's Crime Trip Line at 610-278-3648. Barnwell was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for March 8.
