Description

Press release from the Wright County Government: February 22, 2021 The Minnesota Department of Transportation is looking for public input on the future construction of Highway 25 between Catlin Street in Buffalo and Kjellberg Court in Monticello, which is slated for construction in 2026. MnDOT is currently conducting a corridor study to identify access and safety improvements on the seven-mile stretch of road. Part of that process is to elicit public input in the form of a survey of residents who live along or travel on Highway 25 frequently. By early 2022, all Wright County offices will be located along Hwy. 25 in the proposed construction zone. The survey portal opened earlier this month for public input and will remain available until Sunday, Feb. 28. Road and access conditions will be studied through March, including traffic counts, traffic forecasts and safety concerns. In July, alternate recommendations will be made, including the use of turn lanes, access management, sightlines on curves, shoulders, pedestrian crossings and overall safety. The Corridor Study Report will be published in the fall of 2021.
