BURR RIDGE, IL — Over the last two weeks, Burr Ridge saw 33 new coronavirus cases, totaling 973 as of Sunday, according to county numbers.
The virus has infected 9 percent of the town's population.
Of local coronavirus victims, the mortality rate is 3.8 percent. In the last couple of weeks, Burr Ridge saw one more coronavirus death, for a total of 37, according to county health agencies. Most of the local deaths have been at nursing homes.
As of Sunday, Burr Ridge had 90.4 coronavirus cases per thousand people. The figure compares to 68.6 in Darien, 68.7 in La Grange Park, 71.7 in Western Springs, 75 in Hinsdale, 77.1 in DuPage County, 78.2 in Elmhurst, 81 in Clarendon Hills, 85.7 in suburban Cook County and 95.2 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 1,172,824, up .9 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 20,234 state residents.
Nationally, 27.8 million people have caught the virus, up 1.4 percent from the week before. A total of 494,008 people have died from the virus in the United States.
