Meth Found In Jeep After Car Accident In Westlake: Police

WESTLAKE, OH — Suspected meth was found in a car stopped by Westlake police this month. At 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 12, officers heard a Jeep Cherokee driving down Clemens Road. It sounded like one of the vehicle's wheel was locked up, police said. Officers tried to stop the SUV as it pulled into the Extended Stay Hotel. As police approached, the Jeep was thrown into reverse and hit a parked car in the lot, police said. After the accident, the Jeep came to a stop. Police then approached the driver, a 43-year-old Westlake man. He admitted there was something wrong with his SUV. While speaking to the driver, officers noticed a meth pipe poking out from his shirt sleeves. Police searched the Jeep and found a scale and suspected meth. The 43-year-old was taken into custody. At Westlake jail, officers found blue pills in the man's possession. The 43-year-old was booked and then released. Charges against him are pending lab tests of the suspected narcotics, police said.
