AURORA, IL — Aurora police identified a suspect in an attempted kidnapping shortly after asking for residents' help Sunday to locate the driver of a car caught on surveillance footage.
A man tried to lure a 13-year-old girl into his car Feb. 12 in the 500 block of Hartford Avenue shortly after being kicked out of a nearby business for "making inappropriate comments" to women who worked there, the Aurora Police Department said Sunday in a Facebook post.

The department posted pictures of the suspect's car, asking residents to submit tips if they recognized the car or the driver. Police posted an update about two hours later, saying they identified the driver after receiving "numerous" calls and tips.
Police have not publicly identified the man they are investigating in connection with the attempted kidnapping earlier this month.
