Mindful Parenting---- Meditation and Movement Class
Class is offered to parent/caregivers. Parents will learn how to be more present in their lives and with their child by learning different types of meditation (eating, breathing and counting) that can be done at home, work, or anywhere. The goal of mindfulness is to improve awareness of experiences, thoughts, and feelings and help your kiddos (and you!) relax when they begin to feel overwhelmed. Benefits to your child include: better self-control, lower anxiety, increased positive moods, better emotional regulation, improved social skills and communication.
The movement portion of the class will consist of basic chair and standing yoga poses that will introduce participants to the health benefits of exercise as a way to lower stress and enhance their overall health and wellness.
The class will be taught by Dr. Monica L. Cummings, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT® 200).
Parents who complete the course will receive a special gift to help them on their mindfulness journey.
Course will be 6 classes held weekly starting March 11, 2021 at 9 am
