hello! I have 1 adorable baby hedgehog available, he will be ready March 2nd. I am currently accepting a deposit to hold him till he is ready to go, I'm asking $250, a depositof $50 and the remaining$200 due at pick up or we can set up payment plans 😊. I'm happy to answer any questions you have or go over any concerns to see if a hedgehog is the right pet for you! for more information you can message my Facebook page Blue Rose Exotics or text me at 5 zero 2 four 3 eight 7 one 0 nine. 📢GENERAL INFORMATION!📢 (this is coming from an experienced hedgehog owner, i have owned hedgehogs since 2009! babies parents are all pedigreed to ensure healthy babies!) ⭐they are NOCTURNAL animals so they are more active in the evenings and at night or early mornings which means they will make noise ALL NIGHT LONG usually. ⭐hedgehogs are SOLITARY ANIMALS they dont like company or companions. your 30mins (at least) with them a day is enough. interaction between two or houseing together can lead to fighting which will cause serious injuries and even death! ⭐they eat HIGH GRADE cat food & BUGS as well as a verity of other things, please note, most commercial hedgehog foods are just fillers and not good for hedgies and cheap low grade cat food isnt good for cats or hedgies either. they need specific % and ingredients in their food! ⭐they need a 11" to 12" wheel AT LEAST, no smaller or it could hurt their backs hedgehogs love to run. they spend that MASS MAJORITY of their awake time running. California bucket wheels are the closest you are going to get to silent and even that isn't foolproof. ⭐they need a heating system! a ceramic heat emitter (they kind that does not let off any light) as they need to stay around 75-80 degrees or you risk them hibernating which will kill them. ⭐they do have quills which CAN and probably will at some point poke you. they also have teeth and though its rare they can bite just like any other animal with teeth. ⭐they need an enclosure the size of AT LEAST 105qrt bins, that is the MINIMUM size recommendation and the bins are perfectly fine to use! you can use wire cages like the ones you would use for a guinea pig or rabbit or even make your own C&C cage just MAKE SURE YOU MONITOR YOUR HEDGEHOG they can and will climb the wire if precautions and monitoring arnt done they can hang and kill themselves!! thats why most breeders recommend large clear bins. ⭐ they need ENRICHMENT! hedgehog safe toys, hides/houses, stuff like that for them to play with and have a safe space to sleep. ⭐THEY AT SOME PIONT WILL NEED A BATH AND NEED NAILS TRIMMED MONTHLY!! ⭐THEY CAN BE GREAT FAMILY PETS!! but you and your children need to be aware of how to properly handle a hedgehog some kids are amazing with hedgehogs while some they just arnt the right pet for. ⭐ALWAYS BUY FROM A REPUTABLE BREEDER! one who tracks pedigrees to make sure their lines are healthy! also "reputable" doesn't always mean USDA licensed. there are SEVERAL hobby breeders whom are amazing! look at their website or better yet facebook page if they have one!! read their reviews stalk their page (the buisness page not their personal one!) and see whats on there! most are happy to answer any questions and concerns you have!!! DO NOT BUY FROM A PET STORE!! not only are pet stores over priced for the quality you get, but they do not buy from reputable breeders they usually buy bulk from "back yard breeders", they probably arnt pedigreed so you know nothing about their gene pool what they might carry if they have any wobbly hedgehog syndrome(WHS) in their lines or cancer or if they are heavily inbred causing other issues!! they also DO NOT handle their hedgehogs often enough, reputable breededs start handling their babies at 2 weeks old to socialize them and will continue to do so till babies are old enough to go home!! breeders may seem more expensive but they back their babies and only want to semd the healthiest and best home with you! not to mention they will always be there to answer any questions or concerns you have that pop up along the way
