Hello. I need your help sir. I'm looking for a mature guy, a licensed contractor / plumber and electrician, who wants afternoon work finishing a small remodel in NW Eugene. Other people have worked here and then moved on for better jobs. The new PEX lines need some slight rerouting through a soffit, and we may need to install a Pex manifold running to a new kitchen sink and dishwasher. We need to install hot water PEX and valve to a new bathroom sink vanity. We also need a dryer vent run to the outside and a vent for a stove fan. We probably need a filter in the line between the city water and the hot water heater. This structure was initially permitted in the 90s as a studio, and sat empty for many years. Now the city may be trying to get money out of the owner by claiming this needs new permits as a new structure. I don’t know all the rules, or if it's just about money for them. I'm the Finish Carpenter living in this mess. The owner lives in Seattle. I'm considered part of the family as I've been living with her for years. Now I'm living here as we remodel the place, and I will continue to live here. We want to do as much of the work ourselves as we legally can as family, and as much as we can that does not legally require permits. If we do need to get permits, then we will. I have significant paperwork, as printed emails from the city, to help you gauge where we're at and what we need to actually do. If we do need plumbing and electrical permits they may be done by you, or you can help me to do it. I need a guy who knows the answers and all the ins-and-outs of permits here in Lane County. We want to get by with as little permitting as required. The homeowner already has been somewhat involved going back and forth with the city bureaucrats concerning what has to be done, and I can show you the plans we’ve already done that are apparently incomplete. We have already installed a shower and run PEX lines to where the washer and kitchen sink will be. We have also completed the drain lines outside. This dwelling is located inside the city limits of Eugene in Lane County. I need help from a mature guy ( I'm 63) who knows his way around the city permit process and what we can and cannot do, with or without permits. Of course we want to be proper and not illegal. I can send pictures to your phone if you want, so you can gauge the process at this point. Both plumbing and 220 electrical are necessary to finish. We’re creating a new kitchen with a stove, stove fan, sink and dishwasher. There are plenty of electrical outlets, and some that must be relocated. I have a new ceiling fan in the bathroom - to replace the old one. There is an electrical panel near the toilet that we may or may not be able to get away with, because it has already been permitted in the past, but the owner doesn't want to move it unless it's absolutely essential.
