The arrogance of ERGOT is truly breathtaking. After CAUSING the power outages by poor planning and lack of maintenance, they have the audacity to claim that low supplies and high demand justified spiking of electric bills into the thousands of dollars. These outrageous bills, of course, will not be paid because they CAN'T be paid. The asleep-at-the-switch politicians will intervene eventually after the heat of public outrage hits Austin. On top of Covid, on top of climate change (STILL being denied), Texas building codes are WOEFULLY inadequate to deal with what is coming.
