Position Overview: Under the direction of the Assembly Supervisor, a Paint Technician is someone who performs a variety of painting duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties include assessing damage, prep of product, painting and clear coating, buffing and final clean of painted area. Ongoing training and Education of Paint Technicians. This is a non-supervisory position. Responsibilities: General: Assess amount of time it will take to complete rework on unit Prep area to be painted – sand, putty, prime, etc Paint and clear coat unit Buff and clean product of debris and overspray Log time spent on unit performing rework Inventory: Control inventory on paint supplies Develop relationships with paint supply vendors Safety: Follow all safety policies Follow and educate Paint Technicians on OSHA requirements Maintain Work Practices: Maintain work environment for 5S standards Promote a positive team atmosphere with co-workers Be on time for your scheduled work day Marginal Job Functions: Other projects as assigned Requirements Qualifications Education: High School diploma High School required Experience: At least 1 year of related experience required Other Requirements: Ability to work overtime when needed Learn and incorporate the 5S program Must be able to mix paint colors to find perfect paint match on units Pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to lift up to 50 LBS, use air tools such as a phuematic buffer for up to 4 hours a day, wear a required respirator, stand for up to 6 hours, sit up 4 hours per day. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to climb a ladder, grasp small objects, and have visual acuity for operating the mechanical tools of the trade. Work Environment: The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing and warehouse areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the individual needs to be able to wear a respirator. Primary environment: ambient room temperature, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
