The Beach Cottages is a family owned and operated hotel since 1948. We have 80 guest rooms. This position is responsible for supplemental cleaning to the housekeeping department, preparing guestrooms after check-outs and before check-ins, and to maintain the overall cleanliness and functionality of the hotel. Primary Duties Include: Inspecting and cleaning public & designated areas daily. Daily sweeping, trash removal, window washing, barbecue cleaning, mopping, minor repairs, etc. Responding to janitorial requests in a timely and efficient manner. Requests may include delivery of supplies to rooms, spot cleaning areas, maintenance issues with toilets, TVs, heaters, doors, etc. Effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers and supervisors. Follow company policies and procedures. Maintain working spaces in safe and clean condition. Requirements: Stand for long periods of time Walk for long periods of time Climb stairs Frequently lifting of 20 pounds unassisted Sometimes lifting of 50 pounds unassisted Physical dexterity involving bending, crouching, holding, and carrying for long periods of time Has knowledge and understanding of repairs and maintenance. Must possess very good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be flexible to work all shifts (Morning & Evening until 9 PM), weekends, holidays, and may be required to work overtime on occasion when the department is short of staff. The ability to listen, learn, be helpful in all situations.
