WHITEFISH BAY, WI — Authorities are searching for the driver of a white sedan after police say its driver struck a high school cross-country runner in Whitefish Bay, and drove away. According to Whitefish Bay police call logs, officers were called to the intersection of N. Lake Drive and E. Belle Ave. just after 5 p.m. on Aug. 24 on a report of a person who was hit by a car. Police said a high school student was jogging with their cross-country team and was crossing N. Lake Drive at E. Belle Ave. in a pedestrian crosswalk when they were hit by a moving vehicle, which turned onto N. Lake Drive from E. Belle Ave. Authorities said the student rolled onto the vehicle's hood and then fell onto the pavement, resulting in a minor leg injury. Police said the vehicle was a white sedan, and that its driver failed to stop. According to police the driver continued north on N. Lake Drive.
