The Tosa Skatepark, nestled inside of Hart Park, is set to expand their 10,000 square feet park by 2,000 square feet of space.
Aspects of the concrete expansion include a "mellow" design - flat areas for less experienced users. A grind bar will also be added.
The construction for the skatepark expansion begins the week of June 29 and is anticipated to last about six to eight weeks, weather dependent. The skatepark will be closed to the public during this construction.
No city tax dollars funded this expansion. Tosa Skateboarders United raised $150,000 to fund the project.
