The contractor, Zenith Tech, Inc. and their subcontractors will be removing and replacing the pavement on Center St., adding a drop off lane on the north side of the street for the school, and constructing a retaining wall with a sidewalk ramp between 111th St. & Center St. Center St. Closure Center St. between 112th St. and the railroad bridge will be fully closed to traffic until late August. There will be access for pedestrians to walk east and west on Center St. Why are we doing this project? The pavement is in poor condition. The drop off lane and sidewalk ramp are meant to help with school traffic, pedestrian access for all abilities, and overall pedestrian safety. The addition of sidewalk on the south side of Center Street also provides a key connection for the existing sidewalk to the east and west. This press release was produced by the City of Wauwatosa.
