Description

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI— The Waukesha County Expo Center will open as a community vaccination clinic on Feb. 8, according to a news release. The Expo Center, located at 1000 Northview Rd., will expand vaccination sites that currently include area hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and fire stations. The Expo Center will initially complete vaccination of Phase 1A health care workers, emergency responders and certain members of the Phase 1B group as identified by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The Expo Center is not open to the public at this time. Vaccinations will only be available to those who have been invited to register and schedule an appointment. Members of the public will not be able to drop-in at the site. Individuals 65 or older should work with their primary caregiver to receive the vaccine. Waukesha County Public Health plans to administer 1,000 vaccines daily at this site through February — dependent on vaccine supply. Waukesha County will expand operations at this location in March, with a goal of administering 1,500 vaccines per day, based upon availability, the release said. Waukesha County residents can sign up online to get information weekly about COVID-19 and vaccines or by texting WAUKESHA to 22828.
