WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI—The Waukesha County Expo Center community vaccination clinic expects to administer 1,000 COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday to eligible individuals on its first full day of independent operations, according to a news release. On Monday the clinic administered 328 vaccines in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services' mobile vaccination unit. Individuals being vaccinated on Wednesday are a combination of all eligible groups, as defined by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). In the future, vaccination at clinics in Waukesha County are expected to fully shift operations to individuals 65 and older as Phase 1A vaccination nears completion. While the site has the capacity to administer 7,000 vaccines per week, operations are scheduled according to the number of doses of vaccine available. When vaccine supplies grow, the clinic will aim to complete 10,000 vaccinations per week. Vaccinations at the Expo Center are only available to individuals who receive the county's vaccine update email and have been contacted to register and schedule an appointment. The site will not be open for "drop in" clients.
