WAUKESHA, WI—The School District of Waukesha administration was made aware of four positive coronavirus tests late last week among students and staff, resulting in people having to isolate and quarantine per health department guidelines, according to a memo from the school district. "The District is in the process of hiring a Covid-19 nurse who will coordinate our District efforts as well as a contact tracing team to assist with tracing close contacts of confirmed cases in the school environment," the memo said. The School District of Waukesha has been working through positive cases and close contacts going back to March 2020. "We have received word that students, staff, support staff, and contractors working on our building projects have had to isolate and quarantine. We anticipate that this will be an issue we have to work through regularly during the 2020-21 school year," the memo said. The Waukesha Freeman reported the district has at least two confirmed COVID-19 cases among staff. The test result of the potential third, at Heyer Elementary, remains unknown. The two confirmed cases were at Butler Middle School and Lowell Elementary School, the Freeman reported. Per Joe Koch, Deputy Superintendent, there still is not confirmation on the third possible case.
