Description

SHOREWOOD, WI—The Shorewood Public Library will be closed on Tuesday, November 10, for mechanical equipment upgrades to the cooling system. The plans were approved in 2019. This closure was originally scheduled for Monday, November 9 and has been moved to Tuesday. The Library will be open as normal on Monday, November 9. The ventilation system and fans will be turned off for the duration of the upgrades. The North Shore Health Department recommends closing the building to staff and patrons since the system and fans will not be operating. The project includes the following:  $8,000 - Change out the R22 coolant that is no longer manufactured to a compliant coolant that is more efficient, less expensive, andmore environmentally friendly. $4,500 - Update the rooftop air cooled condenser fans with new motors, blades, and controls. $5,000 – Remove/ replace ice trim valve (3-way). $2,500 – Replace 3 pumps with sureflex couplers (2 hot water / 1 cold water). $20,000 – Replace the 4 frequency drives (typical 20-year life).
