SHOREWOOD, WI— At the October 19 and November 2 meetings, the Village Board voted to extend the outdoor seating season for requesting businesses who had special privilege approvals on file in 2020 for outdoor seating or parklets.
The typical outdoor seating season ends November 15.
Businesses who requested to keep their outdoor seating installed through the winter will need to ensure that at least 5 feet of sidewalk remains unobstructed at all times and that snow removal is coordinated.
Milwaukee also made similar considerations.
Several businesses have submitted plans to alter their installations to make them more winter-friendly. The Village's Business Improvement District coordinated this request, recognizing the ongoing occupancy restrictions and general indoor customer discomfort associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
