OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek's Drexel Town Square was awash in colorful chalk drawings Thursday afternoon as more than 40 people took the time to express their feelings about social justice. The event, called Fill The Circle For BLM, was an event hosted by Stand Out and was independent of any other marches or protests, organizers said. The chalk event went from noon to about 5 p.m. Thursday in Drexel Town Square, 500 W. Drexel Ave. in Oak Creek. "BLM," "Black Is Beautiful" and "Jesus Loves the Little Children" were just some statements that were drawn on the square. "We were a bit saddened by the rain, but the memories live on and the friendship of community grew a little today," organizers told Patch.
