OAK CREEK, WI — A 51-year-old Waukesha man had his car stolen at the Oak Creek Burger King after authorities say he was tricked into giving a homeless man a ride, only to have him drive off with his car. According to police call logs, the vehicle's owner said he was at the Burger King, 1250 W. Rawson Ave., and was standing outside his Toyota Corolla when a man came up to him claiming that he was homeless, was looking for food and needed a ride to Milwaukee. According to police, the suspect was allowed to sit in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Call logs state that the vehicle owner started his car, then went to the trunk for something. Police said the man in the passenger seat suddenly jumped into the driver's seat and began backing out of the parking lot. Call logs stated that the vehicle owner jumped on the front hood of the vehicle as the man pulled away. The vehicle owner slid off the hood, and fell on his right shoulder. Police said the vehicle was declared stolen by police, and was estimated to be $10,000 in value.
