OAK CREEK, WI—Leaders in Oak Creek are warning residents about additional controlled burns. At the time of each burn, visibility in the immediate area may be impaired due to smoke. Members of the public are advised that smoke emanating from the burn area is not cause for alarm. The following sites are scheduled for prescribed burns on November 13:• Abendschein Park (1311 E. Drexel Ave.) – near skate park and along creek. • Oak Creek Municipal Services Building (800 W. Puetz Rd.) – 3 ponds in back lot For safety reasons, burn sites will be closed to the public for the duration of the burn. If you have questions or concerns contact the City of Oak Creek DPW at (414) 570-5682. Controlled burns are recommended to reduce the growth and spread of weedy, invasive and non-native plant species.
