Multiple Stolen Signs Found In New Berlin Traffic Stop

NEW BERLIN, WI — Police in New Berlin were working Friday to reunite a number of stolen yard signs with their rightful owners. In a Facebook post, the New Berlin Police Department said the 11 lawn signs — some naming political candidates and others promoting small businesses and safe driving habits — were recovered Thursday night during a traffic stop. Those suspected of stealing the signs were given a citation for theft, police said. A police spokesperson told Patch the suspects were teenagers and that the theft was not political in nature but, rather, an act of mischief. The teens told police the signs were taken from the area of the Greenridge and Weatherstone subdivisions.
