NEW BERLIN, WI—The New Berlin Police Department posted a "desperate plea" on social media regarding a lost dog. A 2-year-old pup was last seen wearing a blue harness and a camo green collar in New Berlin. The post said if you spot the dog, don't call out, whistle, chase or follow. The post also said don't feed or try to lure or even make eye contact. Call all sightings to Billy's Posse, Inc. lost dog and search recovery at 262-833-7480. The post asks people to not post sightings locations online. "People are running out to try to catch her and lure her themselves and this is driving her away from bait/trap stations she was almost ready to go in and now she's running for her life. We should have had her. Almost had her. Then, chased out of the area. You will NOT get her! This poor dog. She has been running since she got loose. No one can catch or lure her. No one. Because she is in survival mode and most of you don't understand that. It simply means you absolutely will not be able to catch or lure her," the post said. The post said the dog's life depends on it. "We're not exaggerating. CALL IN SIGHTINGS! Do not post sighting locations online! People are not listening to any of this! You are putting her life in danger! She's going to collapse from exhaustion or simply get delirious and start making poor decisions from not eating or resting, like walk in front of traffic," the post said.
