MILWAUKEE, WI — Holding a megaphone and wearing a face mask, NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo joined a George Floyd-related protest in Downtown Milwaukee on Saturday. "I want my kid to grow up here in Milwaukee and not be scared to walk in the street," he said to the hundreds of people who gathered to march along with he, several other Milwaukee Bucks basketball players as they marched down 27th street and across the 27th-street bridge. Giannis was joined by teammates Donte DiVincenzo, Brook Lopez, Frank Mason II, his own brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo. Sterling Brown, who filed a lawsuit against several Milwaukee police officers related to a Jan. 2018 incident in which he says he was stunned with a taser and unlawfully arrested because he was parked in a handicapped parking space in front of a Walgreens. In that incident, several officers were suspended. The Milwaukee Bucks players wore T-Shirts that read "I Can't Breathe" as they walked down the middle of the street. They were joined mid-march by another peaceful protest that was led by activist Frank Nitty.
