MILWAUKEE, WI — Florida-based transportation and logistics company, Ryder Integrated Logistics, has plans to close one of its Milwaukee locations, according to a notification filed Thursday with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
Due to a "customer's changing business needs," HR manager Charles Hengesbach said in a WARN notification that the company will cease operations at 5211 S. 3rd St. in Milwaukee on April 1.
The closure is expected to impact approximately 80 workers at the company, according to Hengesbach. Their last day at work is expected to be March 31, 2021.
According to the company, it hopes to retain as many workers as possible and is working on redeployment efforts as feasible; however, there are no bumping rights applicable to employees terminated as a result of the upcoming closure.
Ryder, which is headquartered in Miami, is known for its fleet of commercial rental trucks and has close to 800 locations nationwide, including 16 locations in Wisconsin.
