Description

The Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) hosts "Mental Health and Wellness in the Workplace During a Pandemic." The three-part program will be presented on February 9, February 23, and March 9, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Brookfield Chamber members may attend the series at no charge, and guests are offered access to each session for $15.00. The programs will be presented by Leah Szemborski, Licensed Professional Counselor. She has spent over 10 years with Ascension WI EAP, and has also worked in corrections, domestic violence shelters, child and adolescent treatment facilities, and with people in poverty. Carol White, president and CEO of GBCC, said, "At such a challenging time for many, we felt it important to acknowledge some people may be struggling with coping day-to-day. We are quickly approaching a year into this pandemic and it has had major impacts on how we go about our daily lives. Add to that, we are in the typically gloomy months of January, February, and March, where people who suffer from SAD are normally having a rough time - now toss the pandemic on top of that. We are pleased that we can partner with Ascension to offer this series on Mental Health & Wellness in the Workplace...During a Pandemic." Registration for the three-part series can be made at the Brookfield Chamber website, www.brookfieldchamber.com February 9, 2021 – Mental Health and Wellness in the Workplace, During a Pandemic - http://bit.ly/3omLKkh February 23, 2021 – Workplace Conversations about Mental Health and Safety - http://bit.ly/3phbDTD March 9, 2021 – Help and Hope in Our Community - http://bit.ly/3a1388J RaeAnn Thomas, Director of Ascension EAP, CEAP, said, "The pandemic has changed the entire landscape on mental health and wellness. We, at Ascension, are grateful for this opportunity to speak on this topic and its impacts in the workplace. In our current times, where people are isolated, this is the space where our mental health can take a toll. Mental illness grows in the dark – when people are afraid to talk about it, the injury gets worse. The place we can all start is to listen without judgment."
