MILWAUKEE, WI — HMS Host Corporation, a provider of food and beverage services with operations at General Mitchell International Airport, became the latest service-industry business to temporarily shed workers during the coronavirus public health emergency. According to a mass-layoff notice sent to the state Department of Workforce Development, the company put 120 workers on furlough starting on March 20. Company officials said they expect the workers to be on furlough until at least April 3. "Currently, we expect the mass furlough to be temporary," George Serigos, Human Resources Generalist at the company wrote this week. The furloughs impacted the company's operations center at 5300 S. Howell Ave. at the General Mitchell International Airport.
