MILWAUKEE, WI — A flurry of stores with operations in Wisconsin made public announcements this week that they are moving toward requiring face masks amid the continuing COVID-19 pandemic in Wisconsin.
Kroger, Kohl's Department Stores, Walmart, Starbucks and Best Buy all announced this week that their stores are joining the growing ranks of retailers that are now requiring that customers wear face masks when they enter their stores.
Kroger, Kohl's and Walmart all announced the new policy on Wednesday.
With the increase in #COVID19 cases across the country, we are committed to doing our part to help reduce the spread of the virus. Starting July 22, we will require all customers in all locations to wear a mask, joining our associates who continue to wear masks. pic.twitter.com/r9WPD3QNFa— Kroger News (@KrogerNews) July 15, 2020 Dane County was the first large-scale municipality to require masks, followed by the Village of Shorewood and then Milwaukee.
Menards and Costco were the first two major retailers to require masks in the state, and places like Starbucks and Walmart are following suit.
