GREENDALE, WI – Wisconsin has been awarded a $30 million grant to support early care and education, officials announced Tuesday.
The Preschool Development Grant will total $30 million over the next three years and will be utilized for the strategic plant developed by the Department of Children and Families, which includes feedback and guidance from the department's early care and education stakeholders.
This grant will help create a new Equity Advisory Council which will focus on strengthening family and provider input in the state's early care and education system.
"The first five years are essential to the future success of our young learners and we don't get a do-over," said Governor Tony Evers in a prepared statement. "The ongoing pandemic continues to sharpen our focus on our early care system and its importance to our economy and society."
